I have actually posted this before but with a different pic. I think he is fine, but after looking at this pic, 2 people have now said he could do with a bit more.

It drives me mad? Should I up his feed?

To me the horse is perfectly fine. As mine are eventing, and fit, this horse even looks like he's on the heavier side. In the world of showing the horse would be underweight probably, but the showing world is notorious for obese horses, and I wouldn't want a horse to be fat personally...

Generally speaking, the horse looks a picture of health. Don't listen to anyone that tells you otherwise..xx

I think he looks smashing, certainly wouldn't put more on. Do you have a pick of him stood, might be easier to see?

Looks bob on to me from the photo, although it's not really a photo when you could probably tell from the best, but still even from that photo, looks just right.

I haven’t got a recent one of him stood. I am notoriously bad at picture taking. He is an all rounder, so I want to be able to do a bit of everything with him at a good level (so I am schooling SJ over 1.20-30 at home and want to jump Disc/NC, would like to do dressage at prelim/novice, and then have a go at eventing at the end of the summer at intro/pre novice and see where it leads us)
That was taken at a local show, I don’t usually do showing but my yard went on an outing and we got pulled in second and ended up 4th (the judge said he looks great, but rides like a giraffe, which isn’t far wrong as he is a bit quirky till you get to know him!!) we still qualified for the local championships though which was fun!
I am just a bit perturbed that 2 people (work) both horsey but at different times have looked at that pic and said he needs to carry a bit more weight :(
I think he looks OK for what he does and his workload?

I think he looks fine from the pic you posted maybe a little over if anything :) I have never been into showing much but had a sec b who was clearly overweight and when I entered showing classes the judge s always said what an ideal weight he was I always thought they must be blind or am quite clearly missing something :D

Looks fit and athletic to me for the time of year - I'd congratulate you.

I have. Pics are in my album thing on here. Only had him a few months, currently sorting transport and we should be out and about soon. Cant wait :D

Vam new neddy is lovely - bit of a difference to Bitsy mind you!! Bless the old girl :D

if anything he could do with losing a bit, certainly doesn't want any more weight on.

Ditto the agreement.

To win show classes, yep, you probably need to make him fatter (b@ll@cks to 'condition' - it'd be FAT- showing people just like to wrap it up in nicer words). To be fit and healthy , no, he cerrtainly doesn't need to put more weight one, and he might actually need to loose a little.

Absolutely not, he's looking good, but deffo needs NO more weight.:D

I think he looks lovely :) I wouldn't want any less off him, but not a huge amount more either. If you did want to build him up, strapping would probably add that little bit 'extra' onto him, if it's something he's not getting already...but other than that I think he looks like a lovely produced fit horse :)

He makes me drool, lovely boy.

LOL we always laugh that he is all good looks and no brains. He makes me drool a bit too, with all his quirks.

Thank you for all of your lovely comments guys - will try to take some pics at the weekend of him doing his 'thang' (which isnt showing - you might get a "standing on my back legs" or "sideways cross with head in air whilst spooking at unknown object 50m away" as well as the conventional jumping/flatwork pics! :D
