ye but im tall (5ft11) and my boyfriend is 6ft 2, and we both ride 16hh horses, and neither of us make a horse look that small!
the guy must surely be about 6.6 to make it look that small?
it could easily be 16hh- my 5yro is 16hh and i have long legs so can look lanky on her and i am only 5'9ft so if you put a 6'4ft man on her she would look tiny.
Could be although most people seem to overestimate the height of their horse.
On the other hand I have a couple of four year olds. Both have been measured and one is 16.3 and the other is 16.1. However if you saw a picture of me on both of them you would probably think there is well over a hand in height difference. Some horses just ride larger than others ...
Well, I'm 5'4'' and my mare is a smidgen over 16.2hh (measured recently) and this is how we look together (please excuse the awful pic!!) Amazing what a combination of long legs + narrow body + funny camera angle can do.
So yeah - I'd say that horse could easily be 16hh.
ahh ok, I can see what people mean about funny angles etc..... so ye guess I can see it, although it may be 15.2/15.3 rather than bang on 16hh.........
But im so used to riding monsterous 17hhers now everything looks small!
My last horse was advertised at 16.1hh (to make 16.2hh - she was only three and a half). When she died she was 15.2hh on a good day. She was an IDxTB. I'm 5'8" and I looked a bit big on her.
This is Bill, one of our CBSH stallions.. he is getting close to 16.2hh ...You wouldn't think so would you?
Dont try to read too much into a photograph! I really wonder about some folks and what they "see" in a single moment of time with no knowledge of the circumstances....
Ohh...btw, Trent who's riding him in the pic IS not a long way short of 7'...and his own horse is a 14.3 QH stallion! He can put his foot down to corner! lol
