Whenever non horsey people take a dislike to me/I'm in an argument and they have ran out of things to say to offend me, they start talking nonsense to do with my horse to attempt to offend me even more?!

Some of the things I have had are :
"you only have your boyfriend and your horse. What are you going to do when he leaves you and your horse dies"
"haha you ride horses" (crude & disgusting way is what they mean)
"you have a horse, haha you're uglier than it"
The list could go on...
I have no faith in humanity :-(

Please say I'm not the only one who gets this?!

Batgirl - I find it amusing! They don't bother me, I tend to ignore them any way in the first place :) Just wondering if anyone else had it, or if it's just the youths of today being utter a holes :)

wot Batgirl sed.

Why are you still talking to them at that point. Insulting your opponent's horse / pet / mother / sister's husband's half-brother's uncle in an argument is surely an admission that you've lost?

Sorry, are these people supposed friends, because they don't sound very nice people to be spending time with. I don't think I've ever had anyone say those sorts of things to me. Just enjoy your boyfriend and horse and ignore the rest of them I say! :) xx

Ah you didn't mention yooouves, definitely all cretins! :D (plus they scare me so I stick to my nice adults only yard and nice work people who love that I have a horse and ask all sorts of lovely questions about him :) )

I would say that it happens with most of our cretinous youth these days (generalising of course!)

Batgirl I'm a 'youth' :-( but i like to think I am about 25 and not one of them! I only assosiate myself with people who are older than me, so much kinder & easier to get along with.

Nicki - no they aren't. My friends are A LOT nicer :D

In my teens I remember it being the done thing amongst idiots to end any disagreements by making comments about each others mothers, or to reply to insults with 'and your mum'. Sounds like a variation on that, just accept that if you didn't have a horse they would be saying stuff about your dad being less able to hold his own in a pub fight than theirs, whose dog is hardest & other inbred remarks. Just smile & nod, & look forward to seeing them on Jeremy Kyle in a few years!

I used to get that a lot at school.
We also had the old gem "So, you're a horse rider huh? You must be good in bed"
:\ arg!

I got this a lot in school too, except it wasn't once or twice they said things like that, it was all the time, it got really annoying. :/

Those non-horsey people have no idea what they are missing out on!

Yea! It was all the time for me too :( They used to say "Ewww, horsey girl, galloping around like a horse!"
I always wanted to say "No, I gallop around ON a horse!" but I was far too shy and just put up with abuse XD

I laughed out loud at the galloping on a horse part' xD
Same with the shyness part, though if they went up to me and said horse-riding wasn't a sport (Which they did) I'd rant at them so much that I'd scare them off (Which I did! xD). Ever since then, they have stopped winding me up about it' (:

I've never come across that kind of behaviour...other than when I was in school the standard horse rider ass comments, but a lot of my friends rode too so it wasn't out of the ordinary to be horsey.
Try being at school when your mother gets a job as a teacher there. I can't tell you how hilarious it is to hear 'guh huh I just 'had' your mum' from every lad in the class, 3 times a week for about 2 months till the novelty wore off! Lol who cares what other people think, ignore it and carry on your merry way :D
