i have posted before about my boyfriend wanting to buy my friends ex-riding school horse. basically, she wants to sell him because she'd like a deposit on a flat with her boyfriend, and she doesnt have the time to look after him.
Red would be ideal for my bf. the bf can catch red, groom him, and tack up, and then mount up and walk and trot. hes been riding for 2 monthe now, and he loves it. wev discussed at length how much it would cost him to keep red, and that itd mean the end of his friday night drinking sessions.
Red came trotting across the field whinnying at adam the other week - hes never done this with my friend or me, and i looked after him all winter.
my friend wants 1500 pounds for red with tack, but..
-hes 17,
-he wouldnt pass a vet due to a massive knee (but has been sound in the 2 years iv known him)
-he doesnt have a passport
-he desperately needs his teeth doing
and
-she owes her farrier 200 pounds (dont know why the farrier still shoes him)
so would it be fair to offer her 900 pounds, pay her farrier, tell her to sell her tack seperately (doesnt fit red v. well) and say that she can ride him twice a week?
or is it slightly mean?
any opinions or thoughts please!
