:confused:i work 6 part time cleaning jobs just to survive and pick up about £220.00 per week after tax.on the livery yard there are about 4 who dont work and all they do is sit down there all day on their top the range mobile phones.most of them are single parents and have at least 3 horses between them.the lazy fockers pick up per week between £180-£350!!! and get their council tax and rent paid.sorry but i must be going wrong somewhere.one has just got pregnant on purpose cos her youngest has reached 6 and she was going on jsa but doesnt have to worry about it.its all wrong and im sick of it.these lazy good for nothing child breeders.:mad:
 
I understand. I am a working single parent. Out of curiosity I did an online benefits calculation and I would be better off on benefits, it's sickening.
 
It's important for me to show my daughter that no matter how difficult it is, it is worth having ambition. To have some self respect and earn a living. Makes me laugh that I earn less than those on benefits and it's my tax that is paying for them!! There is something wrong with the system, that's for sure :/
 
I hear you. I once worked with someone that was earning less than she would be on benefits. How I'd love to be able to spend all my time at the yard but unfortunately work comes first!
 
I was on jsa for a while and I was embarrased by it. I hate the fact we as a country pay so much money out for people to have kids. If you can't afford them then don't have them (I totally understand those who loose their jobs and need help on a temp basis)
 
it goes to highlight the obvious problems with the benefit system and i welcome changes to be made to it.

I have no problem with people claiming benefit if they truly need it - i cant stand the parasites that you have just mentioned.

I admire people like you who work and dont rely on handouts to sustain their lifestyle. I pay over 800 per month in tax and NI per month and it makes my blood boil so see it being so badly abused.

Jaffa cake anyone?
 
I agree with all of you!!! I work fulltime for pretty crap money which leaves little time for the horses but without them I would go insane & at least every thing I have, I have worked to pay for. Yes it is gutting when you think the benefit cheats take home more than you a week, but sorry, I would be bored s***less sat in watching Jeremy Kyle every day lol. I have self respect :) (and no children ha ha)
 
Really anoys me! When my dad lost his job due to the company having problems he got £50 pound a week to support a family! and when he went to the job center they were suprised that he was applying for jobs :eek: yet there are others who have horses and a 4x4 that have never worked. Also a girl I know is always moaning on facebook that she needs a new house and nothing she likes is avalible, she had a baby at 16 and is now living on the state expecting a house in the town she wants and wont take a flat in the next town.
Drives me nuts!!
 
Am so with you all on this, absolutely makes me sick, have worked all my life and still cant afford to swan around the yard in named clothes in a 4 x 4 and buying new rugs every season! Spongers, why should I pay for people to have kids and horses???
 
I am no longer able to work after I lost my leg above the knee had to undergo a double transplant and then lost the sight in my right eye. I do not get alot of money and I am made to feel like the scum of the earth for not being able to work, trust me I worked all my life till this happened and do you think I would choose to be like this or to be working. A person comes round every two years to see if my dam leg has grown back wish it would then I would not have to ask for help. I do not know how these people end up with loads of money and the latest things as I am unable to do this, so not all of us swan around just taking money and not wanting to work. I have been like this for six years now and it does not get any better or easier to have to ask for help, I hate it.

There will always be people with real genuine need of assistance, which I am sure we would all agree, that's what our taxes / NI should contribute to.

My mum was diagnosed with terminal cancer, she begrudged claiming disability allowance, even though she was most certainly entitled to it. Again, like you, she was assessed regularly for her disability 'blue badge' parking permit. Her cancer was terminal, what did the assessors think was going to happen?!?

'We' as a nation appear to reward those who make the decision not to work and to live off the state, and make life difficult for those with a genuine need for assistance.... and be in a position where they are unable to work.

My mum died 18 months ago, I miss her beyond belief.

Thank you I am sorry I hate people thinking I just do not want to work,had a visit on Tuesday so its still a bit of a raw subject with me. I am so very sorry to hear about your loss and I thank you for your kind comments take care x
 
ebonyallen you are not the sort of person my rant was aimed at. I believe you should get all the help you can and should be able to calim more than those that choose not to work because in my opinion there is a huge diffrence between your situations.
 
I have read some of your posts, I have nothing but admiration for you and how you have dealt with the issues you have faced. I do understand how difficult the system is for people with genuine need. What I find incredulous is that I could receive in the region of £16k a year for doing sod all?!?! How does our government justify that? Those without much in the way of moral fibre will find the system easy to 'play'.....

None the less, I will continue to work (in a job I hate) to pay my mortgage, provide for my daughter and allow her a childhood where she can hope for a future, rather than a life of sponging off the state.

I am sorry as said before they came around on Tuesday and put me through yet again, I really want to say to them yes as you can see it has not bloody grown back, I do know the ones you mean and yes it makes me cross to see them with it all, but they seem to know how to work the system, I did not think I was stupid but they seem to know the ins and outs of every thing and shout and get it all. Thanks for taking the time to add this for me x
 
U see if the bludgers didn't bludge there would be more money for those who really need it. Unfortunately none of the bludgers actually think they are blushing.,, trust me I know I sit in court 2 days a week deciding who gets benefits.,,, Ebonyallem if you came up in front of me- it would be a 30 second decision.., you're a no brAiner -- you are the type of person the benefit was made for.., but because of the bludgers everyone has to be assessed wSting everyone's time and money.
 
Today I had to swallow my pride and put in a claim for ESA, I would be entitled to £70 a week plus council and housing benefits. Hardly making more than I would if I was able to work. If anyone wants to know my situation have a look at my "Any Dr's" thread.

This is what really bugs me about what the scroungers have done to the system.

People in genuine need such as Ebonyallen are put through the ringer to justify what they have every right to claim.

You've paid into the system, don't ever feel embarrassed about claiming what is rightly yours.
 
Yes it's the people and their parents and grandparents (3 generations in just over 30 years) who have never contributed a penny to society who don't deserve to be looked after, not the genuine cases. Lets hope David Cameron sticks to his guns in making it worthwhile to work if you can and limit benefits of all sorts to the unwilling, but I fear the 'do-gooders' will win the day. The rest of us will have to pay even more tax to provide for the ever increasing generations of people who think it is their right to have as many children as they like, do no work and expect to have bigger houses and more money to live on than many working people.

Ahhh but those who have never work and were brought up by parents who never worked, were also brought up know what forms to fill in and how to do it to get the most.

If the lazy bastards put as much effort into working as they do scamming the system the world would be a better place.

And no I do not begrudge a single penny of the taxes I pay going to those in genuine need, just those who don't work because they don't want to.
