Does you BF Hubby help

Mine is great too, takes an active hand all the time. He poo-picks, mucks out, helps with feed, grooms, fills water, helps me out in general but then again he has claimed one as his and has tried to claim another and she the fickle mare that she is loves him too. Thank God my gelding will always be a mum's boy.

BF got on the horse then got off the horse. he comes up in the summer tho coz I let him play with his motorbike in the bottom field and we often have bbqs in the field etc. He is however a mechanic and gonna fit a foot brake onto my cart for me

but thats about as far as he goes. He did once hold my cob when clipping him but he didnt enjoy Winston head butting him and pulling at his pockets and tryng to eat his wellies

8 years ago when I met the OH, he use to come help me everyday as the DIY yard I was at lacked facilities and was hard work. We use to have to get water from the farm yard across the road, and go across a 20 acre field with it.

Then 5.5 years ago I moved to the DIY yard I am at now which has really good facilities and all I basically have to do is care for my horse, the farmer looks after the running of the yard and fields. It has auto matic water in the stables and out into the fields. The OH didn't bother coming up with me at my current yard as it is such easy work.

Then, in July 2009 I had a friends youngster rear over and land ontop of me, severely breaking my ankle. So the OH has pulled it out of the bag and has looked after my two horses everyday since! I have only just been given the go ahead to start weight bearing, so I assume he will be looking after them for a few more months yet!

OH now really enjoys it. I think it is from handling the horses he has got to know their personalities and quirks. Rox is a very cheeky youngster, and Sammi doesn't like sharing HIS human lol! He thinks he is a horse whisperer I swear to god! I tried to advise him how to worm my horses with the paste, before I could say overly much he said, 'I know how to do it'... well that put me in my place lol! What would I know after having horses for 16 years in comparison to his now 6 months experience lol!

He said he will continue to come up to the yard with me even when I can manage entirely on my own... but we will see... old habits die hard and all that! xx

Mines ace.....he's half horsey- he has his own but usually I do the mucking out and main chores. He makes up his haynets/feeds in advance for me. he was there for the farrier yesterday as I work 9-5 and he does shifts. He's ace at DIY, and is currently restoring an old Rice trailer for me too.

He will do the mucking out if I am unwell- although TBH I prefer to do it myself.....

And whilst I am off playing ponies on my own or with daughter- he does the ironing, cooking etc.

Bless him.

Sashpip your OH sounds fab!

Mine is very good and I can't complain - comes up every morning and helps with morning stables (he does the turning out, water buckets).

Has looked after the boy for a whole week when I was away with work - fortunately he was out 24/7 but needed feeding and a cuddle!!

Is my own private groom when going to shows - also driver I don't like driving his landrover - let alone with a trailer attached. But will also help out others on the yard - bring their horses in, take them to a show if they don't have transport - he is a star xx

nmine will sometimes.
he very occasionally suprises me and turns up at comps
hardly ever at the yard though- spends all the time moaning about being cold and hungry!!!
he said he would help me at the weekend move a bale of haylage the horses had pulled out into the field on a monday...erm they will eat it all by then!!!
