I have 2 dogs, but one is a black lab bitch who will eat absolutely anything. She eats all the left overs from our plates including salad with beetroot and pickled onions, she scavanges on the farm too and eats her food aswell, its not really a problem as she is wormed regularly and is the very light weight kind of lab and is constantly on the go, so weight won't really be an issue, but I was just wondering if anyone else has a dog like mine, I have had other dogs in the past but never as greedy as my lab.

unfortunately labs are well known for doing that! i never met a lab who doesn't!
Mine's a little JRT he did similar but with plastics toys! weird dog, i often find coloured poos! so i have put all plastics out of reach, changed his toys for stronger rubbers. But if he find plastic lying about he'll eat it!

Boris had eaten onions, chillies when he was puppy (he's still is!!) but haven't been greedy or anything like you said about your lab.

I have a greyhound who will eat anything and steals! He has had a raw cabbage, pound of tomatoes oh and his worst a bag of flour! The flour was spread round the kitchen and licked into glue over everything balck dog was white! Basically I have yet to find anything he won't touch!

One of my GSDs,Buffy is a real thief. She has eaten some weird and wonderful things, including a £20 note. That was just before we went on holiday and my wonderful friend who was looking after the animals, managed to recover it eventually !! She washed it and I sent it off to the bank and they issued a replacement - bet they didn't examine it too closely! Her latest trick is stealing apples from the fruit bowl. I thought the kids had suddenly become very keen on healthy eating - have just gone into kitchen this morning to find her munching on an apple! If anything goes missing we always check Buffys bed for remains.

One of my black labs ate a large icecream tub of live maggots my son had bought for a fishing trip.

My Vizla won't touch any food but her own. I can leave my dinner lying out and she won't even bother with it. Begging is my pet hate though, so if she's in the kitchen while I'm cooking she'll watch me and if I look at her she turns her eyes and head up to the ceiling as if to saw 'I wasn't looking, honest.'

Dante once stole what I thought was my sons out-of-reach sandwich out of the window and had that away, I know that wouldnt of been so bad, but he had the cling film and all!

He's also got a thing for gravel, babywipes, bits of plastic toys he chewed to death, mud, rocks, slugs, worms (although he tends to fling these around the garden a bit first) and snails.

I'm so glad it's not just Jet! We think he has a cast iron stomach! lol!!
Once, mum had a bad of shopping in the car as well as him, she forgot her purse so had to run back into the house, she was gone about a minute, and in that time he ate half a box of special K bars, including the wrappers

Ours will eat anything which unfortunately includes hedgehogs - at this time of year we have to go out into the garden with them at night to rescue the hedgehogs before they kill and eat them

They will also scavenge anything from the garden fire.
