ok, i had a very emotional day yesterday so i went to see the horses. my first pony was lying down in his starvation paddock so i went to do the usual cry in to his mane blah blah and he stayed lying down and cheered me up. anyhow, went up there this morning and he was in his paddock resting a back leg asleep so i went to say hello. i sat down in front of him and then he suddenly collapsed down next to me!! i was shocked, i mean we have a huge bond but i never thought that if i lay down that he would copy me too. we stayed like that for a good hour and a half. then we got up and he wanted me to scratch his bottom. haha my boy is easily pleased..

do any of your horses lay down with you? every one thinks that he must feel i am 'one of his herd' but i always thought he thought that anyway? OH IM HAPPY. hes such a cutie! sorry that was slightly self indulgent!

My TB will lie down and let me sit with him, however Motor will not be 'caught' lying down and would hate the thought of me catching him lol

we all lie down in the sunshine together sometimes, + i often sit with my arm round my little mares shoulder
never catch my o.a.p. down in the stable but i do in the field
 
This is my daughter with a foal we help with...everytime my daughter sits down in the field Buttons gets down with her..

Its lovely doing this, i used to sit/lay down out in the field with some of our horses and foals years ago, it was always lovely

Our stallion would often come and stand over me and the foal if i was sat down with it, lovely memories
 
One of mine was lying down this morning but not flat out, he had his head up looking round but i sat beside him and he laid flat out beside me and put his head on my foot. So sweet, the others wouldn't dream of doing that though!
