My mare gets like this! I will be in the field catching other horses and she'll chase them with her ears back, and if another horse looks at me ears back. If I ride another horse before her and she see's she behaves alot better especially if I ride her, get off and have a quick go on another she hates it!
She just gives like the pet lip when you look at her, it's so cute!
Honey is the most jelous horse i know. Would rather b e laft alone UNLESS you are with Mysti, She whinneys, throws a strop and then doesnt talk to/bites and kicks mysti for at least the next 24 hours
i think mine do, I have just put all mine together in one field they had been in three different fields before. My little 12.2 gets very jealous if i spend to long with the other four. I dont know though if it is because he is now boss of the field
2 of mine are very jealous (if the 3rd one is he doesn't show it). If I bring one of them in the other will scream and pace up and down the fence until I come back, 3rd one will wait patiently.
If I show the 3rd one attention in the field the other 2 will come up and bite him, kick him, chase him away as they just want the attention for themselves.
My old mare used to. She used to be a bugger to catch and "hated" coming in for work (even though she actually loved it). But I used to help out other owners with exercising their horses and as soon as she saw me go to another horse she would come cantering over and whickering, and nuzzling me as if she was jealous
My mare gets incredibly jealous if I talk to another horse - she stands looking so dejected. In the field if I talk to her fieldmate, she sees them off!
Sid is terribly jealous. When I go to visit woe betide any other horse who comes within 30ft of me. He is vicious as hell with them and isn't messing about!
Hovis is the same - if i do Pride before him in a morning then he kicks the door down. In the field he will keep any other horse away from me and "bodyguards" me when I am poo picking.
When Sid and Hovis lived together they regularly tried to kill each other.
Pride doesn't give two hoots. He's anyones for a carrot..........tart.
If I'm giving another horse attention Ballet either stands facing the wall in her stable, or stands by the door nudging me, the other day, she actually nipped my shoulder really hard as if to say "Oi! I'm over here..."!
That said, she'd deffo the Jealous type, if she's been in the field with another for over a month alone say, if you put another in, she quite literally hunts the new one down! She becomes dangerous, and quite scary! How ever if you put her out with 6 to start with, she couldn't care less!
weird, but one of the other ponies in the field gets jealous of my boy when I go to bring him in. But I'm under no illusions, it's cos he thinks he's missing out on a four course buffet with lashings of ginger beer.. sm x
Amusingly, Dad had the trailer on the yard, then pulled off and went home with the trailer. Trailer was empty, but my older mare started screaming, leaping and generally becoming completely OTT because the trailer was going without her....
She also stands in her door way, whinnying and shouting if I ride something else in the big school where she can see.
The other one isn't nearly as bad at all, but is fast picking these habits up!
