Just abit of a random post but was just wondering?

My two will go out alone or in company and not much difference in their way of going, but if I had to choose one, it would be company as I think most horses do enjoy being out with a mate as it is more natural for them.

depends who the company is

he is more fun alone than with his field mate as then he is a lazy bugger but like going out with others.

Mine only goes out in company. I can get him out on his own but he does not enjoy it so mainly go in company. When in company he very confident. When on his own everything seems very scary.

Mine is easier alone but we do have our sticky moments when she naps because the troll under the bridge or the scary hedge monsters.
Out in company she is fine as long as she is in front and no one over takes her. If she is behind she becomes a bouncing and lunging everywhere monster and throws in the odd rear just to make it intresting. She becomes unbearably strong also.

If company is well behaved then he is (but still spooky but much more willing to walk past scary objects if following), if company is naughty then he tries to be a copycat but if I put him infront so he can't see the horse thats messing about he's fine. Alone he is spooky and will trot very fast past scary objects/dog, he's constantly looking out for what scary object is going to jump out at him!

Depends a little on what we are doing. If we are hacking round the fields and doing some canter work she's definitely better on her own with noone to race against. If we are out on the roads where we may encounter buses/tractors etc she's definitely better in company. But generally fine to do both.

mines better alone as is spooky but doesnt race (ex ER pony), show off to or try and fight the other horse/pony like he does in company!

2 of mine it makes no difference, the other one is far better on his own because he seems to feed off other horses nerves/spookiness. When its just me and him he just listens to me instead and very rarely spooks or gets upset.

The lad is much better in company, the world is a much less scary place. He's a bit of an idiot on his own. He's still giddy and spooky in company but we generally don't hold up traffic or fall over fences in panics.

Unless the horse he is out with is somehow even spookier than him. Only happened once, but was a very interesting ride.

Pickle is generally pretty good in both

he hadn't been out for probably 2 months when I took him out on sunday

and me being me decided a group with 8 other horses would be fun

bless him he was going the slowest however my arms still ache from the experience

haha

makes no difference to either of mine, however i would say they both hack better off the road than on, although they will both hack on the road if i have too.

Mine is good in company, but not a crowd as she's a bit protective of her personal space

She's great to hack on her own off road, but a bit dodgy where we are now as the roads are so busy and she has been known to whip round or nap, even with company. We're determined to try and get her out a bit, so I have taken to walking alongside her as OH rides and she seems to like this better than anything. Oh well, good for the waistline!

my mare is much better alone, with others she gets very excitable and if another horse spooks it will set her off, she still spooks out alone but we go at a nicer pace!

I prefer us to go on our own as he is much more forward going!! He is a bit spooky (just silly, not dangerous) but at least he's moving. With company he's a lazy git, drags his heels, doesn't want to go in front - I have to nag a lot!!!

Sometimes it is nice to have a meander while having a girly gossip though.

In company - but only in the company of one other horse - add another into the equasion and it turns into a race which can get scary as he is very strong - he isn't bad on his own just alot more spooky.

In good company. My mare is very nappy and insecure. I can't actually get her off the yard on her own.. The other horse I hack her with has to be confident otherwise she gets scared and naps.. :\
