Well if we're talking Claim to Fame surprises - we were surprised one day to open up our copy of H&H (years ago) to find a coloured centre page photo of one of our mares with her foal grazing happily in the paddock - but instead of grass hanging out of their mouths it had been "mocked up" to look like they were eating £10, £20 and £50 pound notes! The same photo was also used again to show what a good grass paddock should look like. The dam of the foal was also written up in many National, European and American magazines after fighting her way back from too many ailments in one go to mention here, and surviving. She also was used (photo taken) in a vets book to show how a horse should be when having a needle (we were asked to use our mare as by then she'd probably broken the record for how many needles she'd had to have whilst in veterinary hospital for over 3 months). The foal of the above mare, was also used as a 2 year old on coloured posters to promote a new feed at that time by Dodson & Horrell.

Our cob mare was used in ITV's adaptation of Catherine Cookson's "Dinner of Herbs" . She was so special and looked fab with all the actors in costume and was ridden side saddle by the leading actress quite a bit. . It's lovely to have as a reminder as she died 2 years ago.

My old pony and I had a pic in Horse and Pony doing mounted games, it was a fab action shot.

Will try to post it later when I can get access to photos

I wrote a story about a day at dressage from my pony's point of view, and the local horsey magazine part of the Western Daily Press printed it. They even sent out a professional photographer.

I know i said about mags doing a wee, we've also been on Bargin hunt, flog it (first eppisode!), On the Hoof, done promotional work for calamity jane in plymouth. There are other bits and pieces that I can't remember

My arab Gedenski was (still is!) very well known in the endurance world. He was British National Champion in 1999, reserve on the European Team at Punchestown in 2003, won/completed many 100 miles races, raced in the desert, had his photo in H&H/Riding etc many times and was the sponsored horse of Saracen Enduro Mix for a few years which meant his photo was in all their adverts and on the front of all the feed bags.

Now he's just famous for bossing me about

Yep, we've been in a Horse masterclass, and are also on a riding clubs website. We've also featured in magazines for various comps etc in the local area! My old cob and I are on the front page of a councils bridlepath leaflet

Well, yesterday I bought this month's issue of Horse magazine and was delighted to see a few HHOers featured... The_Stropster with her wonderful boy D, BBs with Snoops and Weezy no less on the cover... aren't you a famous lot?!!!

I bought Mac off of the guy who plays Micky Miller in Eastenders real life girlfriend. Not sure if that counts.

He has also done a poo on Teddy Sheringham's front lawn!

Not the best - but didn't like to feel left out!

My mare is a saddlers wells mare.

We've had a right up in HH when we Q for the regionals - I was quoted, quite the most exciting thing!

My boy features in one of the photos on this year's village calander under the caption "plodding ponies" - he's a 16h speed freak!

My old loan horse was used at a local Indian wedding to take the groom to the ceremony - apparently it is tradition to use a white horse. He was dressed up in all the garb and marched up the High Street behind an Indian band. He was such a star as the groom couldn't ride at all, and there were lots of photos of him in the local paper.

My old horse in Thailand modelled for a big chain of departments stores called Central for the Year of the Horse! he was on billboards, inhouse banners, posters, brochures! They were gonna use some of the horses from the yard but none of them would stand by the lights...the back drop.....the whirring fan! I had to hold him for 2 hours and he was a star (nibbled my arm to pieces though!)

Merlin was also used in a Monty roberts demo.... for clipping, shame though, he couldnt get near him unless he was penned into three sections of the round pen kind of in a triangle

My sisters TB RIVER TERN. Won over £47.0000 and is named in the SIRE and STALLION BOOK under his Sire, PUISSANCE.

The chestnut in my pic was short listed for a HARPERS & QUEEN magazine photo shoot

My other TB (not pictured) is one of only a handful of Male line WAR ADMIRAL direct decendents. which means his related to SEA BUISCUIT.

Another TB i owned was a direct decendent to the Australian Champ, PHARLAP, by having Carbine twice thru Musket

My horse was used on the faking it programme (the pole dancer to show jumper one). She has also starred in a Mary Wanless clinic in (I think it was Horse Magazine) with Weezy.
