Just a musing really! My youngster is called Tommy ( he has a very long posh registered name so I wanted a simple stable name) but never gets called that. Everyone on the yard calls him "wee man" as in saying "hi wee man" as they pass his box or "come on wee man here's your tea" etc etc. I even shout "wee man" down the field to him and he comes to it! He is youngest on the yard by at least 18 months so I think it's a kind of baby thing. We have two ex racers who get called Sunny and Solli because no one can pronounce their names. Troy who is massive (17.3hh) everybody calls "big guy", Amber who is a grumpy moo gets affecionately called "cowbag!". Dimples the Shetland gets called Pimples! It's a bit silly really but I'm just wondering if anyone else does it? Or is my yard just mad!?

Bradley is always referred to as brown horse
swift is always nitty pony. They are basically their names now as everyone uses them :)

I call mine 'sausage'. It's just a pet name but I tell everyone it's because that's what I'll make him into if he keeps depositing me on the ground. :D:D

The boss gelding is known as grumps, the mummy mare is the essex girl or bolly knickers, her daughter is the tank, and the shetland, well.......

How much are we allowed to swear :D :D :D

Elton for when she's have a tantrum (elton Johns tantrums and tiaras, she thinks she a princess) and another not so polite nick name is **** off coz when she's ridden she moves her lips all the time and it looks like she's saying the above !

Miss Congeniality - Stable name is Genie
Nicknames include - GG, Madam, Welsh One, Welsh Witch

Southway Miss Milly - Stable name is Milly
Everyone calls her Titch

As a teenager, I had Potty (she was!) Grotty (loved mud) and Snotty (used to sneeze all over you when leading him):D

Snip gets called Snipper, or Snipperdooooo, or Snippersaurus.

Rhythm gets called baby Wriggler, or Reeeethammm!

Bert gets called Bertmonster

Java gets called

Bean - I dont know why he just does !

Big Bear - He is cuddy like a bear!

Mr J - My gran names him that

Charlie gets called

Mr Grumpy - he is 21 and hates horses bigger than him and always scowls

Charles - When he is being naughty

Milo gets called

The Big Dog - He is a very hairy shetland!

Miley - Dont know why again!

Charlie and Milo together get called the "Driscoll Brothers" of Only Fools and Horses becasue they are both grumpy and Milo is the little brother following Charlie round everywhere and Charlie is the big brother who bully's everybody

'Big Girl'
When I bought her as a 4 year old she was 14.3hh (arab). By the time she was 7 she had grown to 15.1hh, so Big Girl. My father (who adores her) calls her Blossom, no idea why.

Oscar started out as 'Osc', then 'Oscy Chops', then 'Choppers'. When he's been snowy (lives out) this has recently become Chopsicles (like icicles...) And his middle name is Shinanigans. So officially now Oscar Shinanigans Chops.

I am a pain for nicknames though, i have them for all of the little yard. Although not as developed as Oscy's, he's got tonnes of personality. Spontaneous names are created when i turn around to find him standing behind me rather than the stable where i left him :p ...etcetc...

My mare sadie is called mrs moo mare, moodle mummy, or moodles.
Derek is called nip nip
Philippa Jane is called PJ
Dave is called Baby Dave (he's nearly 2 now and still baby dave!)
Secert is called Princess (she's 32 and quite old and manky looking - not really what u'd expect to see for a princess!!)

Fany is usually called Dude or Sweetie. Captain's are usually ruder. He generally gets Giraffe because of his long neck or G*t face when he is being a twit. I some times refer to him as His Majesty, as he is totally pampered and is extremely happy to be.

Trouble - the fourth pic in your siggy is absolutely beautiful. he looks a big powerful but gentle horse.

:D

Thank you! That's Snip....he does look all those things, unfortunately he is an accident prone, sickly, practically retired 7 year old who is pretty much useless for anything but cuddles!
