I don't mean a sense of humour as most seem to have that or general excitement I mean more specific obvious things oh bother...........I'm not much good at explaining what I mean so will give you just a couple of examples of things Beacon does that imo show a fun side to him

Squeals when he gets excited i.e when asked to canter or gallop or when faced with a cool jump

Chased a bird that was in the school the other day flinging front legs right out as he took off after it (we were already cantering)

Then yesterday at somerford park he squealed several times at jumps and once as he chased pheasants on the track while galloping

Bless him

Bucks when excited !!!! eventually realised it is no way back or health related - he just a happy happy horse

will chase a local pheasant out of his field !! funny to see

Use to look after a master horse that had a serious sense of humour. No matter what mood I was in when I got on him I always had a smile when I got off!

You could never lead him as he was always nipping the horses neck or reins just for fun not out of badness. When we use to work on canter hill cater up he would buck like stonk though never unseating. Couldn't walk in a straight line down you could always tell his tracks, went straight then there would be a huge gap then the tracks would start 4foot forward & 6foot to either side! He once did this & managed to spin 180 & even he was shocked to be facing the wrong why. As I say you never got unseated & he went everywhere with a grin on his face. Such a loveable man you never had to tie him up to plait pull main or tail, he just loved attention!
Also jogged everywhere whick knackered your back but you could never get cross with him!

Herds cows, sheep, chickens etc. Decideds to walk up peoples driveways just to see whats up there! Most items other horses are wary of like a stray feed sack, will stomp on it, paw at it eventually eat it! Squeals at everyone and everything!!! Very happy (mad) horse!!

Made me laugh - didn't think geldings could squeal!!

I don't think my older horse has a sense of fun, if he were human i would imagine he would be very sarcastic (as in - i told you so!)

Baby mare unfortunately would be a dumb blonde!!

well im sure he does, but the other day i had a load of grass in my hands so he came up to me, and when he reached me i ran further away, to try and get him to chase me.......he just stopped and looked at me as if to say 'how immature are you?' !!!!oh but the other day i left him standing in the stable with nothing on because he normally stands still, then i went to put the headcollar on and he trotted out of the stables quite arrogantly-was quite funny!

Oh yes, Murphy gets really excited when he sees a pretty girl around and he larks about just to show her what a fun type of guy he is lol and he goes to bite me but stops now which I think is his idea of a good laugh!

LOL at the squeely buck! Great name.

Occasionally when jumping if we do a jump that April thinks is impressive she launches herself into the air after it! She's like a footballer who has scored a goal.
I know its for fun and it just makes me laugh, everyone always whoops at it now and I swear it makes her show off more lol

It was captured on camera 2 weeks ago:

ditto, h is soooo bludy nosey !!! more so than me !!! lol

Heck yes, Bert squeals with the slightest excitement!

Always sets off in canter on a hack with a couple of bunny hops and squeals! If I push for gallop we are squealing like a stuffed pig, he loves it although with the squealing comes a lack of breaks and sore arms!

He also gets excited in the paddock at breakfast.......charging around bucking and flinging his leg in all directions until he gets to the gate!

Zirrus chases deer. Often over hedges and into neighbouring fields I was seriously considering hobbling him but thankfully they seem to have got the message to keep out of his field.

Was worried tony blair might show up and shoot him for hunting as he would be easily mistaken for a hound being mud brown most of the time and partial to playing fetch with broom handles

Definatly!

At his first ever jumping lesson (well we say jumping what we mean is some poles on the ground
wink.gif
) he was really nervous over the pole the first time, then he decided he knew his stuff, charged at it, shot sideways, flybucked and squealed, my instructor was in stitches! He said he certainly had a sense of humour

Edited to correct spelling

Well lets just say she like to gallop!! She will offer canter on every field, probably because she is in a routine now, tis very funny!!

She also bucks when shes excited, one time we were cantering up this field next to another horse and she bucked and galloped off and the girl i was riding with said that all she saw was us go wizzing past and me going "Don't you buck young lady!!"

But sometimes her sense of fun goes out the window and she bucks to be naughty, and rears when asked to go in water alone. And she becomes a cow when asked to do rein back

We think that the big girl thinks that she is too posh for our yard, she tries to go up every drive with block paving! The old Appy has a real sense of humour, she once managed to fill her mouth with water, walk across the box and then deposit the mouthful down the gap between my sister and sisters jeans

Hemir definatly has a sense of humor!!!

Last week at my lesson, we were practicing flying changes.....well H decide taht buckin and jumping around the arena would be good fun instead of listening!! Tehn i was unning through my dessage test yesterday had he decided to canter down one side of the 'arena' doing flying changes - i know not what i asked for and if i asked for it i wouldn't get it!! It was change, change, change....3 or 4 times!!!! bless!

He gets very excited on hacks and then gets stroppy if i dont let him go, so rears up and kicks out foward...but doesn't bother me anymore!!! he's just doing it because he's excited!!

When he jumps a jump well and im pleased with him, he jumps around like a silly child having fun!!!

He's just soo cheeky and thats what i like about him, he has got a mashive personality and will never be dull, or laid back, just not in his nature!!
--------------------------------

I used to ride a haflinger, his game was: how many times can i get my rider off in one lesson.....He tied getting my off a few times, never did....bucking upright, rodeos, bucking as he went over a 1.20m fence....you name it he would do it just to get soemone off....you could see he had that cheeky smile on his face when he did it!!!

Favourite thing is to untie himself and tiptoe off ever so quietly. If there are any stable doors open he will go and roll in them in turn like Goldilocks! His favourite thing is sneaking off!

Our mare does laps of the field for fun, big lad walks around constantly...
the fat ponies stand and eat!

My pony has been known to fetch a tennis ball several times and never sees a flexible bucket of water without having to pick it up and throw it or stomp is foot in it. He seems to find that fun but the bucket thing gets a little wearing after a while!

Mine definately does. He loves to untie himself, if he can't he will pick up brushes/buckets, whatever he can reach, and throw them at the other horses. In the trailer or if you try to ride and lead, he will grab the other horse's headcollar/bridle, and pull their head around. He also races from one side of the field, nips one of the mare's bottoms, and then races away before they can tell him off!
He definately has a sense of humour, little monkey.

Yes, Flash is so full of character and has a real sense of humour! He chases birds, dogs and cats (and my ex OH) round the field, stands in water buckets, swings things round in his teeth (feed bowls, brooms, forks, brushes) and throws them, and races round the field jumping the XC jumps on his own and bucking wildly. And rears up to eat the higher branches on the trees
