I just wondered where other peoples horses like to be scratched?
I've had my new horse for a few weeks now, and at the weekend i was just fiddling around with the top of his tail and he would stop eating his haynet, so i decided to give his bum cheeks a goos scratch and he pulled this weird face and was moving his lip about like oooh thats the spot mummy lol. It was so funny, i couldnt stop laughing. My old horse use to like her neck being scrathed and would pull faces. But i have never had one like his bum cheeks being scrathed lol.

Oh Ellie loves a good old bum scratch! She moves so that the spot she wants scratched is in the right place, then leans on me! Also loves a wither and neck scratch; the other day, I was rubbing her neck and must have hit a sweet spot; she nearly fell over!

yep, insides of back legs - ooohhh!!
and between front legs he goes all gooeey and pulls faces and mutually grooms me by rubbing his nose on me sideways.
He likes the skin on the inside of his dock stroking too!!

strange horsey - even stranger owner for finding them!

Ditto all the above my horse loves being scratched everywhere and if i am not about he has his favourite tree to scatch on and he also has some scratch pads in his stable. He also curls his lip up in pleasure!

just inside his back legs on his tummy, stretches his front and hind legs right out like a standardbred until he nearlly falls over, and then won't let you stop scratching!

Ok, don't ask me how I know these two but... scrooge likes his back fetlocks sctratched! You get the whole face thing, the odd grunt and... well... ummm.... he tends to "get it out" when you do it.....

Barnaby loved on the inside of his hind legs right at the top where they join his body if you know what I mean. Liked it so much that he used to lift up his leg so you'd get better acess and stretch his head and neck out at far as he could with his nose all pinched! Although we ended up having to be careful how and when we did it 1) visitors thought we were doing something indecent to him and 2) he got so carried away he nearly fell on us a few times (16.2 irish draught/shire)

If I scratch Jacks bum, by the side of the top of his tail he lifts his tail up and wiggles until I rub the underneath of his tail. He also gets so ecstatic if you scratch his shoulders that he has been known to fall over!

Mine loves being scratched too, mainly on his bum cheeks and the dock of his tail! He swings round and backs up to me so I do it. If I dont he starts pawing the floor, proper spoilt boy. Also like inside upper legs, base of ears and his shoulder blades.

Jim only gets his some of his best spots scratched in the stable - his sheath & the soft skin round his bum. He also likes under his tummy eing done but that's no where near as embarrassing!

Little Un likes his ears scratched, inside & out. Very strange.

Jenny loves her withers and down the backs of her shoulders and also halfway up her neck where she has 2 whorls that meet in a ridge - she likes scratching up and down the ridge. She would stand for hours with the droopy lip face on while she got a scratch.

Flash loves being scratched, especially his shoulders, whithers and bum. It's so difficult to plait his tail for shows because he just wants the underneath of it scratched and wiggles his bum and tail at you and sways. He points at the spot he wants itching with his nose and backs up into you so you get the right spot lol!
