I love going to the yard on crimbo day tis awesome like the only person on the yard such an amazing feeling doing everything as quick as you can to get home and start on making dinner and stuff i love it.
Yup my boys get presents/christmas stockings etc. Plus YOU have to have a christmas day ride, its the law
. Its the best day of the year. Last year a man out walking his dog said to me 'why on earth are you out today of all days?' i pointed at the empty road and said because of this, its the perfect time to have a stress free hack!
Dylan usually gets a turnip for Xmas and his birthday
he gets extra treats as well. A couple of years ago I bought him a treat ball - it took him nearly 9 months to figure out how to work it but he loves it now lol.
OH goes mad with carrots and mints on Xmas day...we all go down together to turnout and muck out ( to sons disgust) and I pop down later to chuck em in.
Usually the horses go out a few at a time whenever the owners come down, but last year everyone seemed to turn up at the same time, horses all went out at once more or less....they all had a mad hoolie in the field and we all stood by the gate watching and being jolly. Unfortunatley no-one had brought any whiskey.....
must remember that this year......
A few years ago I went down REALLY early before the kids got out of bed....unfortunately YO hadnt got up either so I had to 'break in ' to the yard to put the horses out.....I was leading them along going 'shhhhh' cos I was worried the hoof-beats would wake her.....I think I was expecting the horses to start tip-toeing or something...
