Before i bought my girl i had a bit of an impulse buy on ebay and fell in love with a gorgeous bridle in tan colour, however when i got her i had a saddle fitted and its a dark brown one, so she has a tan martingale and bridle and a dark brown saddle

really liked the bridle on her in the summer but since shes gotton her winter woolies shes gone a lovely shade of orange and now clashes with the colour of her bridle

Will have to invest in a nice havvanah one

they had a really nice cheap one in robinsons, a stitched one for like £16!! it sold out though

My bridle doesn't even match itself, let alone the saddle.

Scooby came with his dark brown saddle, but he didn't have a bridle and as the RS has looooads of odds and ends in the tack room, we just made one out of all the bits we had lying around. He has a brown headpiece, brown reins, black noseband and black cheekpieces.

Mine will do from christmas! Getting a new breastplate and martingale for christmas, but currently my TB wears black bridle and saddle and my other horse's brown breastplate/martingale, dont really mind at the minute because he wont be going out anywhere till the spring.

all my tack matches- its a good excuse to buy more stuff!

each horse has a dresage bridle and dressage saddle which match.

each horse has a jumping saddle, jumping bridle which match and also if they wear martingales etc they match too.

What the hell does it matter if nothing matches - apart from the fact that your tack actually FITS the horse and said horse is comfortable wearing it?!
Do you seriously show your horse or are you a "happy hacker" - sounds like the latter or you would not have asked this question in the first place.
The Robinsons' bridle at £16 is cheap, yes - but it is imported leather - and dangerous. Go to one of your local auctions and have a look at the 2nd-hand tack for sale.

God yeah! Everything is black. I briefly had a brown leather curb strap. I even like the buckles to match

I'm a bit anal like that!

I have an Albion saddle in nut brown and a matching Jeffries bridle for proper competions, but the work bridles are either odds and sods or whole bridles from previous horses.

good lord yes!!!
not only does my tack match but my outfit and horse saddlecloth/bandages match and if im hacking out with my sister then me and mine, and her and hers, have to match too!

isnt not matching illegal?!

God knows which of my tack matches :P
i think one set does which is my competing tack of kentaur saddle and whitaker bridle in a oak brown i think..
my dressage tack doesn't match on one horse with a brown saddle and black bridle, the other horse is opposite to this! let alone what i hack out in...

Depends which horse i'm riding. On Murphy he has black dressage tack, and brown jumping tack. Pippa has a brown bridle, black dressage saddle and a tan jumping saddle. Colin wears black for dressage, but has a black bridle and tan jumping saddle. Jem has black dressage tack, then brown bridle, and tan jumping saddle. Millie has all black for dressage and all brown for jumping. Did manage to get the tan jumping saddle cheap because of the colour, but cant find and matching bridles or stirrup leathers anywhere!
