Oh yes, I have many, and of course you can still buy them! You will be able to pick one up on Tues as the tack shops always come prepared - prob one of the most oft-forgot items of equipment! The only thing is I'm crap at tying them and have only gone downhill since my mum is no longer around to show me how to tie them... I've only been competing what... 15 years?!

I am not a ready-tied girl! Yuck! Never!

Anyway the ready tied ones look dreadful if you ask me.

i have two non tied ones, but im useless at tying them!! my mum has to do it for me!! (yes im 23 and my mum has to tie my stock!!) i can do it with a mirror, but we keep forgetting to put one up in the lorry!

Hello. Morgan equine do the most beautiful standard untied stocks. I love them. No point in a ready tied stock you will still break you neck. lol. Lou

Haha!! I can do one better than you P_G!!

Sara, i bought my last silk stock from Morgan Equine, i bet Derby House and places like that do them though..

Yes me, can adjust the tightness to save my neck xc!

Although that said really bugs me when people buy untied and can't tie them properly.

me: dressage, hunting, eventing
and the whole idea of tying a stock, the knot protects your windpipe if you fall off, so thats why i would never buy pre-tyed one

On ebay all the white/cream ones seem to be made of silk - I remember and was hoping to use a sort of corded cotton one again for hunting (ps always a tie your own job!!!) can someone enlighten me?

PPS Hubby has to tie my tie for showing and I'm old

I wear a tie your own one but I'm sure I don't tie it properly! Can anyone give good instructions?

I have tried a ready-tied one and it kept coming out of the colour and flapping around during dressage tests so I probably didn't do that one properly aswell!

Ta Druid, its for OH for hunting (opening meet is next Sat and he's swanned off to Malta for the week leaving me to do everything
