Dog attacks - Is it safe to have more than one off the lead ?

I was thinking about how to walk them when I increase my doggie family.
( There will eventually be three dogs ) From recent dog attacks it seems that most of the problems occur when they are in pairs / packs.

My dog at the moment has perfect recall and is really well behaved but am wondering if he may change when the others are walked, especially if they don't have such good manners to begin with.

Do those with multiple dogs find they get more pack mentality when in a group and less likely to listen to me or follow instructions ?

The very last thing I want is an attack on anyone / thing and would rather walk them individually if necessary.

Any thoughts

Cayla seems to manage ok with her 25,000 dogs...:D

How do you make the leap from possible misbehaviour to attacking? Is your current dog aggressive?

When Slinky, Missieh and I all met up we had a pack of four on the beach and I am happy to report that the only attack was a Henry-raid on an innocent picnic:o Oh and St Sweep took himself off for a little solo expedition. And a dead rotten fish came in for some serious mistreatment. No one got eaten though:D

LMAO...precisely, I have 25,000 and they are all walked together off lead for the majority of the time:D

I have 9 but if feels like 25,000 when u add the rescues in with that, they also join the walks and boarders:eek:
All mine run loose, they all have fab recall, my akita does not get off the lead, although I am very positive she would never run and attack and other dog, cos she is rather sloth like:D, she would however mince any attacking dogs that waided on up to her (like the dog attack post above), and Im not Linford Christie, so she could cause a fair amount of damage before I got there:rolleyes:

Tia is the only other dog I keep an eye on the whippet x grey x staff, and if she spots a dog, she is reminded what happens if she fixates (which is very rare she does now), but the rest don't follow her lead even at times she has strided a few paces before quickly returning, however if a dog was to attack like say the 2 labs, any one of my pack, I do believe they would wage dog warfare:D:D but as it is they ignore dogs and people tend to put theirs quickly on the leash at the site of the rotti, and she is my most calm and laid back dog, although her hackle hair goes up at strange dogs when meeting them she would never attack one.

I think if u are a pretty strong and firm leader, your dog will respect it's limits, even when in a pack.
