Our border collie is getting older and his preferred bed is our bed, which we do not want to share with him at night! So he has started patrolling and won't settle.

Can anyone recommend a bed that will give him a similar feel to our memory foam matress without costing a fortune. Memory foam dog beds I have so far seen cost around £140. and I cannot bring myself to spend that much on a dog bed.

My parents have one of those zooplus beds and it ripped within a few months. Why I'm still deliberating over getting a tuff mutts one.

I have bought from tuffmutts for my overweight rescue Goldie. He arrived with pressure sores on both elbows and hocks. He didn't seem to know what a bed was and just lay on the floor. He has got the idea now and just loves it.
They do arrive very overstuffed so I stamped on it quite a bit! It now looks so luxuriously comfortable!

I have the bed in the second link and am very pleased with it. I bought it for my aging GSD (14 years) and she loved it until she passed away last year, and now the others like to use it and as soon as one gets off, another gets on :D

I bought the biggest in the hope mine would share - no chance, also one on, one off. Could have got away with one half the size. :D

i have been thinking of buying a 2nd baby cot and doing some diy on it to make a dog bed for upstairs.
lots of ideas on t`net :)

Which one do they have? I really, really like the second one if it will fit all three of mine at once, although the brothers aren't tolerating big dog at the minute, lots of growling, it's very odd.

I used the cot mattress that my grandchildren had used, slipped inside an old sleeping bag, for my late border collie. She loved it and could often be found upstairs on it rather than downstairs with me! Cover was easy to wash and it was lovely and comfy for her to lie on.

I caved and ordered the biggest size of the second one in the link, thank you, blackcob! It's the updated version of the one they currently have, which is falling apart. They all prefer to be on that one in the lounge than the Tuffie or Kuranda in the kitchen.

I like the sleeping bag idea - I use an old bedspread but it does slowly slide off.

I blame blackcob! The boys are happy, particularly as the old disgusting one is still in the lounge, along with the exciting boxes the new one came in!

I'd claim to be a bad influence but they look so comfortable I can't be sorry about it, LOL :D

I also bought the largest size in the expectation that the dogs might share, what actually happens is that one dog scrunches themselves right into the corner and glares malevolently at any passing dogs who might also want to hop on. Bloody thing is as wide as our double bed and only a fraction of it gets used!

I bought my dog and cat both a memory crumb mattress with removable cover from pets at home which weren't that expensive. ...

Very pleased with them.

Zak, Mr Sulky at the back, has decided he doesn't like the new bed and will stay on daddy's knee. Bear is slouched on big dog on the bed.

I have bought one of these too CT, on Blackcob's recommendation. It's a great bed except for the colour of the fleece. I intend to Velcro grey vetbed in mine.
Blackcob you can get some sort of prize I believe from zoo plus for recommending a friend!

Yes, bit clean! Comes off too easily as all three leap up to answer the door then gets brought as a gift! May have to buy some vet bed and more Velcro!
