Dog beds

R approves of the fleece colour, it means he's semi camouflaged and managed to have a stealth nap on it last night. :p

I have a bed that looks exactly like the one pictured above, bought for my elderly arthritic golden, she has now passed away and it is currently occupied by a small black French bulldog (10 kg)while my other large golden (35 kg) is crushed into her small basket.

Not a dog bed but I bought some lovely snuggly sherpa fleece dog blankets from Aldi today £6.99 and they are so soft my dog has not wanted to go outside today, I saw a similar thing in my local feed shop for £15 and I can honestly say the aldi ones are nicer.

Tuff mutts sale bed arrived today and I have one happy pooch. He's tried every way of lying on it by now, I think it's meant to me a 5cm memory foam, but it feels much thicker, it is very comfy and well made. Think I might sit in it when we have guests over and run out of sofa space.

It's also huge!! Bigger than I thought it would be, that's a 38kg gsd x rottweiler in it for scale lol

Our border collie is getting older and his preferred bed is our bed, which we do not want to share with him at night! So he has started patrolling and won't settle.

Can anyone recommend a bed that will give him a similar feel to our memory foam matress without costing a fortune. Memory foam dog beds I have so far seen cost around £140. and I cannot bring myself to spend that much on a dog bed.

Is he laying on top of your bedclothes, or directly on the mattress?

I have 2 terriers that take their sleep and comfort very seriously indeed and whilst they both like to lay on my bed, they voluntarily go on their own beds in times of tiredness or when I kick them off.

One has an old plastic suitcase with an old double duvet in it which he can bury himself in and the other favours an old pillow under my bed which he sometimes pretends is his girlfriend ...

Our cottage is all on one level, so I think he feels safe on our bed, I put an old cover on during the day, but he has to stay off when we go to bed.. He was in a rescue kennels for 14 months before he came to us, so has always needed somewhere to feel safe. His favorite occupation is to spend all day outside watching for cars, animals to move, Walkers on footpath over the fence or basically anything that moves!
