Dog being sick

My little dog hasn't eaten for a few days which can be normal but Thursday night he was sick then again this am so I fed him a little tuna instead of his normal food and he was sick again, he was fine on our walk tonight but now seems quiet, what can I feed him that he may keep down, if he isn't right Monday he will go straight to the vets, I have eggs or will get him anything he won't eat rice though!

Wouldn't wait till monday could be an obstruction... I give a chicken broth with rice which is easy on the stomach.

there is a horrible 4-5 day virus going round. Mine caught it at a comp last weekend. Dogs are sick and really lethargic and off their food, one of mine had a temp as well. Not saying it is this but I know its really doing the rounds. A trip to the vet would put your mind at rest - mine got antiobiotic, anti inflam and anti sickness jags and are on the mend now. Also google seasonal canine illness. Hope your dog gets better soon x

eta - i feed cooked chicken breast and boiled rice in very small quantities - make sure he is drinking.

I've checked of he is dehydrated by the skin test and he seems fine, haven't noticed him not drinking but will keep an eye and see how he is in the morning

Much better today thankyou, gave him rice and chicken stock and he is back bouncing!

When mine are sick I starve for 24hrs then feed chicken and rice, unless the vet says otherwise.

Starving is the worst thing u can do as stomach and intestinal cell regenerate every 8 hrs so with little food those cells can be damaged and it can take longer to get better

surely it would depend on why they are being sick as to whether ir is best to starve for 24hrs or not?
