Aye... dog friendly cake is something that I've said I'd make too, never get round to it... I'll have to do it this year.... anyone actually managed it?
I'm not sure when my dog's b'day is, but we think he was around a year old when we got him so I'm going to call that day his birthday and he will gets lots of new toys and things! I'd also be interested to hear about the doggy cake - he loves victoria sponge!!! (only gets tiny little bits tho!)
My boys always get doggy birthday cakes....I go the easy/lazy route and decorate an individual block of NatureDiet/Wainrights with some yummy extras plus their favourite veggies. Plus candles of course
Here they are getting their birthday cakes a couple of weeks ago....
Eli, 7
We make a cake using layers of mini pancakes and dog food
Presents, well if they need a new lead or bowl or something they get it, but usually just treats, and take them for a walk somewhere new or take them down the burrows
Boris had his first birthday on the 14th september, he had his beds (he had 3!!) replaced to more of grown up beds (2 now)!!! the old beds were eaten, chewed, puked, pissed on during his puppy hood, He now got nice big duvet with rockets cover! and odd treats, Dad cooked a chicken dinner with carrots and peas specially for him.
We go away with Stella to a dog-friendly hotel, either at the beach or up in the mountains. Instead of a cake, we got her a femur bone that was as big as she was
My friend had a dog birthday cake for her beagle mix, Quigley. It was a carrot cake, and contained no sugar, no dairy etc. and was intended for human consumption as well. Best darned carrot cake I ever had
