Does anyone have a dog toilet? Opinions please.......

We now have 3 big dogs (pups are weighing in at 15 kg's and are only 14 weeks old!!), and an large amount of poop going into the bin weekly.

We were thinking that maybe a dog bog would be a good idea.

Unfortunately not!! We bought the biggest one you can buy and only have one labrador, it couldn't keep up with her poo at one a day!! Hubby ends up collecting it now and flushing it (with hose) down the man hole of the sewer!!

Had one for my old rotty and it was useless, even if you added extra enzyme solution/water it never really got rid of the poo, we went back to using the bin.

A what???????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I poop scoop the garden every few days, and put it in the wheelie bin. I have three big dogs and they do about half a carrier bags worth in 2/3 days. In the summer most of them have desintergrated in 24 hrs (I love raw food poos )

Mine are on raw, so yes, the poos are good, but I was concerned about the amount of plastic bags going in the bin - being pups, they don't do big ones, just lots of them IFYWIM.
I like the 'flushing it down into the sewer' idea - that sounds feasable.

So, scrap the dog bog theory then :D

I had a homemade one years ago. I got a cheap black dustbin and cut the bottom off( may work with lots large holes in the bottom) and dug a hole and half buried dustbin ( between a third and half way up the sides)back fill the base with soil and gravel - about ten inches and then fill away. Worked for me, dog poo and cat ( if I got to the litter trays before the dogs:rolleyes:) went in . I used to add garroter (sp)from the garden centre but not sure it was needed . Bin must be in the sunny spot as helps heat the bin and speed things up .
