Looking to get another dog in 2011. We don't know what breed to go for- so would love some ideas. This is our background/requirements. Thanks folks 
Background:
myself and OH are in our mid 20's, we are outdoorsy people and have horses. OH love running and we both like holidays in out old VW camper to the coast and mountains in Wales. We have an 8 yo Alasksan Malamute who is an angel and very well behaved but hates female dogs- is fine with all males we have met so far. We are hoping to get pup in easter or summer holidays as Im a college teacher and have 3 weeks off over easter and 7 weeks off during the summer for litter training (so need to get on a good breeders list)
Requirements:
something that doesn't shed as much as a mal (this is the one reason why we are not getting another)
needs to me at least medium sized upwards but not a true giant breed.
Needs to look like a breed an intruder wouldnt mess with- OH works away a lot and I don't feel too safe out in the country on my own.
Not a spaniel of a lab or german shephard (we have owned these breeds before and would like something different)
any ideas?
