Is there anything to just chill a dog out a little bit?

We have 3, elderly collie and 2 labs. One of which is now 6 and for years I keep thinking he’ll calm down a bit soon...
I’ve had a google and all I can find is supplements for stressed or anxious/nervous dogs. He’s not any of those.
I just feel by now he should be a bit more chilled out!
He go’s to work all day, everyday pretty much with my OH (farmer) so it’s not like he’s shut in the house bored all day.
He’s just a crazy handful of bounding energy, I’m so glad we live on a farm as he’d have been unbearable in our old normal little house and garden.
People are shocked at his age and I’m often asked if he’s x whippet as he’s so fast and flat out.
He just rarely switches off and even if he’s asleep in front of the fire the second someone moves, breathes he’s up and tearing round again.
He’s the most beautiful cuddly person but sometimes frazzles my brain ?

Maybe he’s too fit? My dog trainer says if your dog ends up super fit they can get like this? My dog sleeps badly when we are home. As soon as I move slightly he’s wide awake and ready to go. You could try something to tire him mentally? A bit of training for 10/15 mins?

All our labs are a bloody nuisance until they are 4/5 but he sounds like its forever! I agree with training, ten minutes out hiding stuff in the garden or on the farm (I use dummies or balls) job done and we get peace. I agree about them getting too fit, it can be an occupational hazard with dogs that are always with you doing stuff.

I love the games! Will have a proper look at those later.
I will also give the brain games a try when we are both home.
My daughter did teach him a little routine of “sit, paw, lie, roll over and jump up” the end bit he leaps up into her shoulder. He loved the praise so much he started wizzing flat out through the routine every time he was told to sit ?
(Obviously we put a stop to that!)
I think finding stuff round the yard will interest him. He’s good at retrieving and finding.
Thanks
