Anyone used any?
I have a little terrier who is petrified of the fireworks, we have some going off tonight and she is beside herself poor thing.
Am worried as they will only get worse next week.
Any advise welcome please x

I used to give me old GSD rescue remedy, it did seem to make a difference although she still got quite upset. We used to just let her go and hide upstairs, and keep the radio on and curtains drawn to help her.

Speak to your vet. There are several things available and your vet will know your dog best.

Over many years I have tried most things for my dogs that were scared of fireworks, thunder, bird scarers, guns etc.If your dog is really very noise phobic I don't honestly think anything will ever get rid of the problem completely but you can lesson it to a certain more managable degree.
I find that a Anxiety Wrap works and add 2 sprays which I am trying out which seem to work well from forestfarmacy.com
It's in organic dog section on their site. The sprays are SAS (Soothing Animal Solution) and Dog Calmer, I use both at the same time, makes my dog calm right down.He still wants to hide under my bed when it gets really bad but I don't mind, if he feels the need we let him go and cover him up, he just goes off to sleep rather than pant & panic like he used to.
Backed up with the Anxiety Wrap which you put on them, it works on accupuncture and accupressure on the dog releasing calming endorphines into their body naturally.
There is a Thundershirt, which is a knock off of the Anxiety Wrap which is more expensive and infringing the Patent laws and I believe is not as good, the Anxiety Wrap has straps at the rear that go round the dog's legs, where their often store alot of their fear and tension, the Thundershirt doesn't.How often have you seen dogs cowering and their rear end is low to the ground and sometimes shakes,as well as tail lowered ?
Love them or hate them, they DO seem to work in helping the dog be more comfortable, I noticed a difference in my dog almost immediately as I said though, it's no quick fix and will not get rid of the fear completely, nothing will.
I have done all the de sensitising cd's , rescue remedy, DAP diffusers, herbal treatments and tablets from the vets. I will stick to what I am using now as it seems best for my dog, hope this helps?
anxietywrap.com this is the site that has the info. I am waiting for some face calming wraps to arrive so I can try those out too. It's like the blitz round here night after night up to and sometimes after 2 am, it starts in Sept and no peace now until Jan next year.
