Just reinstated trial of lurcher on back seat again as she’s not happy in back of hatch back. It is a bit small for her.
Made her a nice bed of towels and a small covered duvet etc which of course she will scratch about and cover in mud! Anyone found a good solution for this? She is a princess and needs some comfort but a proper thin doggy mattress will be tricky to keep clean too! Appreciate any suggestions. Photo of said princess Meg!Thanks.

So- the mostly whippet was a spectacularly car sick puppy, and can only travel on the back seat on a flat surface. Hammocks/slings aint happening, folded back seat is apparently akin to dog abuse (according to his face).
The solution for the last 10 years has been an old duvet/ mattress topper folded to 1/4, home made cover (fleece one side, material other) for easy washing and keep the duvet compacted.
He travels behind my seat, with a strong basket wedged in the footwell under the duvet to keep it secure. Waterproof cover under all of it, his travel harness then clips nicely without faffy scrabbling. You can get hard foam wedges but I refused to pay for one ?
I tried a hard plastic bed with the duvet, couldn't get it secured well enough. So we are stuck with this!
