Apparently coming to London- anyone going?? Or anyone joining the protests?....... I don't agree with his methods (from what I see on FB etc) but does he really save dogs from PTS and does this mitigate his brutal treatment of dogs

Basically uses prong collars and slip leads to try and 'dominate' aggressive dogs.
I have no idea if it works long term, but he has an enormous FB following.

I would imagine it’s a quick fix but not a long term one
I’ve looked him up and I do understand why some people at the end of their rope mentally with an aggressive dog would try his methods but I don’t agree with them

This guy makes me feel ill. I have to wonder with very aggressive dogs who people like him think need harsh and aversive training methods would be better off being pts anyway than living in a life time of fear and unhappiness.

And because this forum tends to run away with itself at time I would like to clarify that I don't think every dog in a slip lead needs PTS.

In my experience, most (not all, but most) aggressive dogs are acting through fear anyway. So I think it could make them more aggressive not less.

He's absolutely disgusting.

Dogs absolutely petrified on the end of the lead, screaming in fear. To then eventually become completely shut down and helpless.

Surrounded by a bunch of absolute morons with no understanding of dogs, saying how wonderful he is

IMO, he is the worst thing to happen to dogs. Far, far worse than Ceaser Milan.

He makes Graeme Gall look like a pushy cat and I would say he is even worse than Cesar too.
He is so aggressive, unpredictable and high energy, really in the dogs face.
At least C would promote exercise and outlet for the dog, DD just pushes the dogs to react then shuts them down and says 'job done'

I read that you have to register and I presume pay to attend and then you are sent details of the venue. All sounds a bit like dog fighting and other dodgy events to me.

That Youtube video is sickening, dragging a scared and confused (that they even write in the title) around by it's neck, and really being aggressive with it. Do they have no idea that that collar is attached to the poor things spine? I'd like to put a choke collar around his neck, attach it to the back of a 4x4 and drive off whenever he protests what's happening. That is basically his whole training method no?

I missed this yesterday. I managed to watch up to 4 mins.

So basically what you've got is a pup who hit a fear period and instead of a reassuring owner the poor dog had a shock collar slapped on then taken to that monster for further abuse.

Horrific.

I suppose if it's your last chance to keep your precious pet alive then maybe , just maybe.... out of desperation, you might.

But it most likely won't keep it alive, just made it look ok when he was abusing it, then you go home with your frightened, abused dog and try it yourself ......

If he was swinging a cat around on a prong collar or a child, people would be up in arms and he would be arrested. Because it's a dog, people just accept it, it really does beggar belief
