Hi. I am the Lab in the siggy. Let me tell you my story--. I am 10 years old now and last year I learned to do flyball. I think this shows you CAN teach an old dog new tricks.
Now I am not the fastest of dogs, but I do enjoy going out to parties.
Yesterday My "Mum" and the OH went to a flyball tournament. The other dog in the siggy is a "proper" flyball dog and was running in a team.
I'm really not fast enough to run in a proper team but yesterday when we arrived, I was asked if I would like to run in a NFC team (not for competition) with the OH (and he's an old dog too!
Yeahh! I had a brilliant time. I did everything right and we even managed to win one race.
Jess, the other dog was brilliant too and her team came 1st in their division so a great day out was had by all.
 
Well done lab - what is your name? I think you have done really well - I would be rubbish as i love chasing balls but I'm not good at catching balls and I would be seriously outrun - I'm a cocker spaniel so have short legs and can go for miles at a spaniel trot but am not very aerodynamic due to my ears flapping! Sounds like that Jess is a serious competitor but you are just like my 'sister' Emma so I like you! Mind you, you are probably just like Emma and would try and eat my food and sleep in my bed! :-(

Still think you did brilliantly - hope you both got lots of treats.

Sorry I didn't put my name. I'm called Beau and the x breed is Jess.
Thank you for your thoughts. I got loads of treats for being a clever dog (and so did Jess), but i do get spoiled as I am very special.
I do like to try and eat Jess's food so Mum puts us in separate places to have our dinner and I always have the best bed. I'm a Lab--that's what Labs do isn't it?
I am going to agility taining tonight. Again-I am not the fastest of dogs but I usually get a clear round (as long as Mum gives me the right commands) and I really have such fun. It keeps me supple and fit and a lady has to watch her figure you know.
Do tell me of your exploits and those of your "sister".
PS My ears flap too when I run.
 
Where are you doing your flyball. We might be going too.
Our next planned comp is march 21st at Sheffield again.(I must be mad to keep travelling these distances!)
