Dougaldog has a garish rubber ringed/spiked toy which he adores. It's lasted him a good 7 months of love and devotion, but it's all going a bit tits up

He's basically eating the sodding thing, chewing little chunks of it off and swallowing them.

I've bought him other toys but he doesn't like them and is a pain until the rubber thing is returned.

Anywhoooo, is eating the rubber going to do him any harm? It appears to be passing through rather successfully atm but I'm still worried.
So leave him to eat the blooming thing

or take it away from him and work through the tantrums, and try and find the same toy/one he likes?

Take it off him - I never leave mine unattended with toys.

I also work on the principle that the toy belongs to me and I allow them to play with it, then I take it away when I decide - it can be a nightmare when dogs get possessive over items.

Throw it away and suffer the sulks until he finds a new favourite - our dog had to be operated on to remove a piece of solid rubber from her bowels
