My pup seems to have a taste for snails ! This worrys me as I know they can get lung worm from snails. He has the monthly treatment on the back of the next which covers worms, including lung worm, fleas and ticks etc but it still worries me. Will the snails hurt him. I seem to have plenty of snails around and he finds them striaght away. He loves them, dont know why.

Chloe does this, shes 18 months. Yesterday we spent an hour in the garden planting bits and pieces, the back door was open and the dogs were wandering in and out. Went in for a sit down and there was a collection of about half a dozen snails in the chair, yeeuck. Chloe was def the guilty party cos she was licking the shells and nibbling on them, (even more yeeuck). I threw them all back outside and bu**er me, she started collecting them up again. Im not sure if this habit is preferable to last year when she was 6 months and had a taste for mice and frogs!!

as long as he is covered for lungworm they wont do any harm but it is very important to keep ontop of lungworm treatment for a slug and snail lover!

Pls make sure you worm him with a product designed to kill lungworm. I've seen dogs die from it and it's not nice!!!

my dog doesnt eat them but goes round systematically touching them with his nose to make them go back in their shells!

Why are there so many bloomin snails about, around my place there seems to be a ton of the horrid things. Must say have noticed them more since the has been feasting on them !!
