OK so my dog is going to a dog show on sat and to cut a long story short he has no hope of winning anything as he had his tail chewed off as a pup and it really isn’t nice!

A flower?
Use a similar idea to those collars you get to stop them scratching at stitches and things and make the petals out of that. Then if you have a green coat for his body?

A dinosaur / dragon. Attach a belt from his collar to his tail and put the triangle bits made of material down his back and the a "false" tail over the top of his. If he'll let you then you could make him some little dragon feet with big claws. I've seen this done and it looked amazing!

Erm... still thinking

I once received an email from an american friend with loads of pics of dogs dressed up for halloween, some of them were adorable, others slightly disturbing (dog in bikini and blonde wig!!!)

Anyway, the adorable ones that I remember were one dressed in a superman costume complete with little red boots on his front feet (so he looked like he was standing up - the rest of his body was covered by the cape), and a black pug dressed as a black spider with the extra furry legs attached to his body.

We have a local community show on the green next to my house. I have won the fancy dress dog competition for the last 2 years. I also have a JRT called Charlie.

First year I dressed him in trousers, shirt, tie belt etc (baby clothes cheap from Tesco). Made a factory from a cardboard box covered in Clip Art pictures of a factory which I added the words Willy Wonka's to and then had a tin of chocolates. Basically the idea was Charlie (as in the dog) and the Chocolate (as in tin of chocolates) factory (box made into factory). You could always pretend you dog is called Charlie for the day or stick a name tag to him with Charlie on it!

This year I dressed him in a home made Santa outfit (coat and trousers in red) complete with black boots (baby socks), hat, belt etc and then made a sleigh out of a carboard shoe box filled with small Xmas decos and dog treats, tinsel etc. Also had a musical Christmas reindeer which fitted nicely into the harness of the sleigh. So he went as Santa Paws and Rudolph and won again.

Hope this gives you a few ideas but either way best of luck for your dog show. It is great fun and the dogs really enjoy it as well. Let us know how you got on.
