My stepfather was given some samples of this food from his local pet food store, and asked me my opinion as their dog seemed to really love it, and he's a fussy eater (the dog, not my stepfather, although that's a different story  ). I had a look at the ingredients and can't see anything bad in them, but thought I'd ask you guys as you're much more knowledgeable than me :)

im no expert but am very nosey so had to have a look. ingredients look ok to me but it is quite pricey IMO....will be interested to see what the experts say....

It's pretty good - the pet shop I used to work at stocked it (it's a generic food that gets re-labelled as own brand wherever it sells, always has the "Grain Free" bit on it but will be called different things - the name this store has picked is "SPC Select".... ours was called something different). Lots of good customer feedback and lots of happy dogs - good meat content and nothing too disasterous in there.

I have to say I tried it with my spaniel and spaniel x collie and it was just to rich for them and gave them bad bellies. But they are the exception rather than the rule in my experience of selling it to people - most people came back for more, it was easily one of the most popular dog foods in the shop.

ETA - Re. Price... I think we were selling it cheaper than that... but can't remember and might have changed.

That's brilliant PF, thanks for the feedback. I figured it was another company manufacturing it, and the pet shop just gets its own branding. I didn't look at the price, but they're feeding MWH at the moment which isn't cheap, and their dog has gone off it a little bit.

Seems quite high in oil content and lots of fillers, but no nasties, although the law doesn’t require full disclosure in this country and there are plenty of nasty natural things that could be used, not saying there are in this one. The chicken stock probably makes the food very tasty, but I can’t think of any other reason to use it.

Local pet food stocks it (labelled with their name) and suggested a neighbour try it for a Yorkie with itchy skin, runny eyes and runny poo. Probably the fact that it was grain free but it suited his dog well, cleared up all those problems within days, dog seems to have been gluten intolerant.

Not particularly an expert but have fed loads of dogs well into healthy old age. The previous Rottweiler who came to us as a rescue had to have a very specialised diet, having had a poor start with cheap 'complete' kibble type stuff, including colours and goodness knows what else.
We decided to keep it very simple with these two and they have 3 tins of Butcher's loaf meat and wheat biscuits split into 3 meals because they are such big dogs (40kg+) and we don't want to overload them at each meal. They are now almost 5 and very happy and healthy.
