dog food help please!

Hi i remember reading a thread on dried dog foods and i cant find it-could you give ur opinions on gelert hypoallergenic chicken and rice please cos i was trying to get skinners but my local didnt have any and i wanted to change his food asap(which is apparantly floor sweepings) he has a terribly sensitive tummy and skin breakouts -bites legs etc etc . been to vet many times and given antibiotics ,never once mentioned diet!! thanks in advance you clever doggy people

Comes up as amber on here, amber being mid range decent food, as long as you use the premium range one. If he has PTS of skin issues, you might want something with absolutely no cereals as this is often noted as a prime cause of itching. (Raw a possibility)

I would avoid maize which is the main cereal in Gelert.

If you know your dog is ok with maize it may be allright but for a quick fix you should be able to find Naturediet or Forthglade.

hi thanks im not able to feed raw i tried and didnt do well -very runny tummy and hungry all the time and doesnt chew! hes a funny dog -english bull terrier ,youd think theyre big strapping healthy dogs but theyre not ,its a real struggle to find something that agrees with him . im glad the gelert is not too bad ,i just wasnt sure if i should hold out for the skinners or something else,i will google naturediet and forthglade and see if i can get them. thanks very much

hey i dont know if youve tried but my dog has a very sensitive stomach, dry food only, and the best weve found is lilys kitchen. expensive but we have slowly managed to wean Spencer onto other foods from this!

Stupid iPad! Lots, not PTS!

I switched to raw and runny bums ensued because I did it too quickly and threw everything at them. If you go slow and use the right stuff, you shouldn't get that.
