Indy is now 7 months old and has earned herself the nickname “Indy Windy”

her ahem, farts are rather lethal and very effective at clearing the room…
Initially tally had put it down to being a normal pup thing but she’s getting older and more potent lol

She is on Wainrights and looks well, has a great coat and in fab condition. Poos normal and regular.
If it wasn’t for the farts I would be happy to continue with food lol.

has anyone any suggestions?
Don’t want to feed raw though.

Try some probiotics? Especially if she's otherwise doing well on her food. Fortiflora are good but pricey. Plenty of other options out there too

Would the probiotics not be more for recovery from recent acute upset?

Its more of a long term issue so assumed it’s more likely to be food related.

No, although they can be used for that. If her GI biome isn't quite "right" for whatever reason and windy arse is a symptom. Probiotics are an easy and relatively cheap option to try and won't cause any harm so a good place to start imo.

The trays or the kibble? I echo the probiotics and a dollop of natural bio yoghurt.

You could try YuDigest - they are daily probiotics, they have done wonders for my elderly dog with digestive problems

Interestingly I had moved my terrier into Wainwright’s and he too has started monster farts.
I’m currently swapping to something else and am pretty sure he’s farting less already.

Best is raw to stop wind. You can feed processed raw though if you’re not keen on feeding chicken wings, duck necks, etc, and you can feed a mixture of raw and kibble. Once a no no but now they say it’s OK to mix. Also, try to find a high meat content kibble, although more expensive you may find you feed a smaller amount.

We use tribal fresh pressed and it’s made a considerable difference to our greyhounds, one in particular is prone to bad stomachs and we needed gas masks in the evening before we switched. Yudigest and natural yoghurt didn’t make that much difference.
