This morning I nearly trod in a huge pile of poo right outside my back gate which I cleared, and lunchtime lo and behold there is another huge pile.
We have an access alleyway leading to 6 back gardens,accessed through the car park of a block of flats.
I am the only one with a dog in the 6 houses and its certainly not my dog, though Im afraid my neighbours will
think so. I also discovered two further piles along the alley way so it seems like a regular toilet break area
This pm I came upon a man( in a hoodie !) who had come from the flats with a staffie and let it just have a wee and then took it back.
I am highly suspicious this is the culprit.Now the problem is, these flats are housing association and the police are regularly in attendance. Do I just ignore the problem, get in touch with the housing association, or try and confront the man ?
 
Have a word with the dog warden. Keep a diary of how much and how often but unless you see the poo coming out of the dogs bum you have no proof of the culprit
 
Ive left a message with the dog warden. New piles this morning. Apart from installing CCTV or lurking in my back garden I probably wont catch the culprit. I have spoken to all my neighbours today though and told them its not my dogs poo ! However have put my big fat foot in it, one neighbour has apparently got a dog but it never goes out, and I said in all innocence , Its obviously someone who's too idle to walk their dog and clear up!

I reported dog muck for the same reason to the number on my council website, half an hour later a man turned up on my door to speak to me about it! He said if 2 of us see the same person then he can issue a fine, if he seems them himself he can issue it on the spot, and if I know who it is and roughly what time he would come and sit nearby in order to catch them. Worth finding the number to see of yours is as useful!! I have a wildlife camera on my drive now to try and find out who it is but they always come when the batteries are flat.
 
Well apparently dog warden cant do anything as the alley is essentially private property! The car park leading to it belongs to the flats
which are housing association, who recommended I reported to warden, so essentially, Im going round in circles !
 
I would put a large bin,wired to my fence,with a black liner...a notice alongside,please feel free to use for your dogs deposits..then hope they will use it.

I walk my dogs on a cycling path and where there are bins it's clear,but where the bins are absent it's like an assault course. If they have a bin,they have no excuse..
The council won't put one,but I would if it was outside my home and it affected me.
 
Soringarising, sorry that was meant to be a comment on the general description of staffie owners in our area, tongue in cheek, but can see might not be PC!

Bellasophia, bin and notice wouldnot work as dog let off to wander where it will while owner stands outside his door , and it cant read!
 
totally feel for you and not sure what to suggest... we live in a very rural area, no neighbours. We do however have fairly regular dog walkers who go along the narrow road that splits our land. Every week Im finding full poo bags that have been either left on the road side, dumped on the drystone wall of my field or hung on the fence :(
 
Hi Auslander, a gate has now been suggested. However we would have to attach it to the walls of the two garages belonging to the Housing Association that butt onto the alley, so may need to try and ask permission. Unless we just do it and wait to see if anyone notices!
 
How about a poster, if they can't read may be the pictures will help, you can also obtain these posters to stick on rubbish bins, my council gave me a huge bundle all laminated FOC ~ it made dog walkers laugh and reduced the dog mess without accusing all and sundry (There are some excellent posters available whilst you follow the gate idea)

I just don't understand people bagging it up and throwing it in bushes, tree's or hanging bags on fences either, that is just pathetic
