Dog halters/headcollars/haltis

Does anyone know of any alternatives to a halti? I am sure I have seen other designs of halter but cant find a link. My lab is able to slip out of the halti if she really wants to - such as if we get leapt on by someone elses dog with no recall!
She is 90% of the time fine in just a collar and lead but if I'm walking her out with my daughter in the buggy, I just need that extra bit of reassurance in some situations.
I just wondered if there was some better fitting product.

Try Gentle Leader or Gencon.

Lexie on here has a nifty padded martingale style thingmy which I always think looks really smart....

Can she slip her collar too? If not double leash her if the halti works for her. Or use one of those split lead so you have 1 lead, but clipped to both her collar and halti.

Haltis should come with a link to clip from the headcollar to a standard collar so if they slip one the other remains attached - you can buy the links separately.

Dogmatics are generally the best fitting I've seen.

Try a canny collar. It works on a pressure point behind the dog's head that gives you greater control.

Thank you for your suggestions. I do always attach the safety clip from the halti to her collar but when it comes off it feels like quite a feeble little bit of fabric to hold her by when shes leaning into the collar, and as she only slips it if shes seriously trying to escape then I'd quite like something a bit better fitting
I have also done the double lead thing, but it was a bit of a handful. I'll try to get hold of a double lead if I can't find a better halter.

I use a figure of eight lead with fleece lining.

It's a lead and a head collar all in one and you slide the metal slide to tighten or loosen the size on the muzzle.

Also has a clip to attach to collar.

My dog s much happier with this lead, than the halti or gentle leader and I find it easier too

i can recommend the gencon, got one for my bullmastiff and even with his short nose he can't escape it

I use the gentle leader as the shape has never affected round his eye unlike haltis or the pets at home ones.

Did Discover Dogs today with my mini bull terriers.One of the less enchanting sights was a couple of Foxhounds strung up in Halties,they looked utterly miserable, nor were their coats in glossy nick either.I felt really sorry for them.Also very much noticed how TINY the Malinois of show type are to my own working type boy! Would`nt knock down a crim with them.
