Dog Handler?

Hi,

I am looking to start a new career, I want to be a dog handler.

I have looked into joining the police but they are not recruiting so good be years before I can apply.

Is there any other roots I can take?

They have dog handlers in the forces, not sure if you can apply just to join them though (I don't think you can for the police either).

Some fire services also have search and rescue dogs.

You could also become a search and rescue dog handler, although that is voluntary and you have to be in a search and rescue team first.

For a police dog handler you need to join up, go through your probabtion and then take it from there.

It looks like I will have to wait and see if I can become a Special do that for two years then do my probation for two years then can apply to become a dog handler. So four years wait.

Fingers crossed I will get an interview for the specials.
