Dog has funny sore patch on his shoulder?

What might it be? I don't have any pics though.

But its a couple of inches diameter of what looked like wet pussy discoloured fur... he didn't like me looking at it. There was some broken skin and pus when i looked closely at it...

OH cleaned it with antiseptic stuff which dog did not like but it looked a bit better.

Dog has over night now scratched it so it is bleeding a bit an d looks sore.

He is going to the vets tomorrow, couldn't get an earlier appointment.

Just wondering what might have caused it?

I suppose he could have pricked himself on something and just caused a little infection.
My old St Bernard used to get little infections round his nipples, they would kind of scab over so i would bathe them and they would just heal up again.
Hopefully nothing to worry about, just a sign he is active and enjoying getting into little scrapes!!

sounds like wet exzcema type thing my lab had under her neck, sort of congealed fur, due to oozing out of the wound?
If its that, antibiotics and cream from the vets are in order, it was very painful for my dog.
Hers just flared up, no idea why but its done it twice and I just keep an eye for it.
