Dog hind leg twitching, tail bent; any experience/advice??

My 5 y/o Cocker Spaniel has been involuntarily twitching his right leg while standing (it comes up and itches his hind - no ticks and fleas there, we've checked). He also keeps collapsing, his body seems to be curving to the right and his tail is stiff and aligns with his right hind leg. He's also started yelping and whining whenever climbing up or down a platform. He's had issues with his spine in the past (IVDD - Intravertebral Disc Disease) where his hind legs stopped working because of a buildup in his vertebrae, but he's on medication now and has been walking normally for a year.
Can't visit a vet because of the lockdown so would really really appreciate any help!

It does sound like a spine issue. He definitely wouldn't be leaving the ground if he were mine, if you can, try and curtail his movement as much as possible until such time as the vet can see him, although if it were me, I'd be pushing the vet for more, collapsing isn't good.

I would want a vet to at least be aware of this, preferably to examine him.

I would most definitely be consulting a vet - they can arrange examinations, they will explain how, this would alarm me I have to say

I can only agree with what’s already been said, the vet would be my first port of call. I hope he’s ok.

What did your vets suggest when you called them? Did they not give any options re video consults, in person no contact consults, pet taxi/ambulance services?

vets are open for consultations like this. they have procedures in place. I'd be off there asap.

Interesting that the OP hasn’t even been back onto the forum since 18:36 yesterday.... let’s hope they have contacted their vet!
