Hi there dog forum, I've never been here before *waves* but hope someone has some info about an incident yesterday (Thursday) eve, around 8 - 8.30, on the A417/419 Swindon by-pass.
I was heading northbound, traffic slowed, and I noticed something on the opposite southbound carridgeway - then realised it was a dog!
A car went over the top of it, without touching it as it was lying flat, I thought it was already dead - then it lifted its head!!!
Oh my god!!!!
I hauled the car over, hit the hazzards, jumped the barrier and was trying to slow down the oncoming traffic, by then some other ladies had also run accross the road, one had called the police I think, and we were slowing and diverting the traffic around the dog. Everything did then grind to a halt, and I could see the blue lights on the way, poor owner was distraught... I had to jump back in my car once we'd stopped the traffic as the other side of the road was still moving and my car was in the way
so I don't know what happened to the dog, but would desperately hope he was ok - does anyone know anything about this????? It really upset me and has been on my mind.....
