A long shot I know, and I will put in Soapbox as well........ from Badminton I bought a rope lead with a clip arrangement that you could have it long or short - apparently designed with the help of the Police dog trainers. The stand was on the left as you were walking down fromthe main entrance towards the Mitsuibi stand and score board, etc.

I bought a lead, but over estimated the size that my puppy was going to grow too, so it was all too big and heavy for her, so I gave it away. Now I would like to buy another one, of a suitable size, but I can't find the name of the company. I have trawled through the stands list on the Badminton website, and worked out the approximate stand number - between 110 and 132, but can't see anything that looks promising. It wasn't dog and co I am pretty sure.

Anyone be able to help?

'softex lead', very light and soft on the hands, best lead I own. The second best is a leather one from Equus Leather who I am sure could make you a police style one. :)

The lead which you describe is known as a "Double" training lead, as opposed to a "Single" which is of a conventional design. I used to make them for most of the British Police forces.

There's a forum member, who I think is called cremedementhe. He's a saddler, his work looks good, and I'm sure that he could easily make one up for you.

Alec.

Thanks Alec, and others. The stand was about opposite the Rural Crafts tent. I keep looking on the websites suggested, but they don't look quite the same.

I got a really nice webbing one from a farm shop for under a tenner, will see if I can dig out the tag. Will send you one if you get stuck but it is pretty heavy.
Hands-free walking for the win :D
