My dog has now started marking urinating around the house. Is the common, will it stop and what can I do to stop it? :eek:Thank you all in advance.

Mine tried this a few times as he matured, often marking "things" like a hand bag left on the kitchen floor! I figured that while he had learned not to wee in the house, he obviously hadn't understood not to spray in the house as well, so we went right back to basics - house lead, non-stop supervision, taking him outside, praising when he marked against vegetation and trying to prevent him from marking against any other surface .... He did it ~ 3 times indoors so was relatively easy to train him not to. I wouldn't totally trust him yet but I "set him up" i.e. put a handbag on the floor then praise him for walking past it without giving it too much attention. I gather they often try it on!

Thanks for that, I'll give it a try.

Assume dog is male. If not neutered, get that done.
I have a Kerry Blue Terrier who used to lift his leg and pee in the house, he only did it in the company of my husband and I refused to believe he did until I walked in to the sitting room one day and saw him.
Asked vet friend for advice and he said it was a male:male territory thing. Advice was to neuter. Got it done and it never happened again.

He's been neutered in the last 3 months, so I have to think of something else!. He's also started, from being totally house trained and able to left, he's getting more and more in house behaviours. He's now started vomiting in his bed and eating when he's left, urinated when we were ut on Saturday, vomited twice this week when I left him. i wonder if he's ill? Actually, the other is marking, urinating on things left on the floor that are new to him as well.
