I never realised this was a thing - does it work, and if so, any particular recommendations?

Having had to have two doggy dentals done this month I'd like to find some way of keeping their teeth sound for as long as possible and not put them through that again. And no, they flatly refuse to let me clean their teeth for them.

TIA

Look at seaweed or plaque off/away for on their food. Also you can get some enzymatic toothpastes where you don't need to brush, I use beaphar tooth gel and our dogs seem to like the taste so it's fairly simple. It certainly stops teeth getting any worse so if they're already clean I'd be hopeful it would keep them that way.

Fresh Breath Oral Care water additive by Tropiclean claims to help fight plaque and tartar. It's made with natural ingredients and you add a capful each time you fill the water bowl. You can get it from Pets at Home.

I take a cotton eye cleaning pad...dampen it,then spray dentalpet spray...rub gently on the teeth and the dog will accept it better than a toothbrush...after two weeks the plaque softens and can be flicked off with a finger nail.
