Our 12yr old Standard Poodle is not well at all. She has had Cushings for the past year, and bouts of cystitis, colitis and fits. Now is is not eating (and when she does is sick afterwards), fitting more & drinking loads (related to Cushings). She is loosing weight, weak, nearly blind and apart from wanting to snuggle up beside you and sleep she not wanting to do anything else.
I have had dogs in the past, all have died in their sleep, or been seen to by my parents (as in PTS). Std Poodles are old at 10 and most are gone by 12, you do get the odd older one, but knowing her breed line, relatives etc I know she is old.
What I am trying to say is, what next? Do I wait for nature to take it's course, do we make that awful decision? This is breaking my heart to even think about, but I have no idea where to go from here..
