Before i start this i would just like to say that she will be going to the vet on monday if she is no better.Since saturday morning my 4 yo dog has not ate much (she still eats cheese) drinking little, desperately wanting out more than usual, always trying to poo but nothing comes out exept fluids-brown in colour,no worms in poo and she was wormed 7 weeks ago.She just looks depressed.what could it be ?? could it just be constipation or diarraeha ?? is there anything i can try before taking her to the vet ?? The walk i have been taking her the past month there is rubbish everywhere and she has ate a few stuff and i know she picked up some chocolate.she was sick once or maybe twice this morning.(just let her out there and she pood out fluids twice and it looked quite red.

sorry but i think id get to an emergency vet today myself. not enough fluids alone can make them very ill without adding in a possible blockage . even pdsa have emergency clinics on a weekend -hope hes better soon.x

Vet Im afraid, ASAP. Could be a blockage which can be fatal. Monday could be too late, If shes been sick and not much coming out the other end it sounds like a blokage somewhere.

Sorry but I would be contacting the vet asap at least phone as in my humble opinion this needs looking into.
Another 24 hours is a long time to wait .It could be a blockage which is a big worry and if a blockage the dog can deteriorate ver quickly (and die!).Has the dog got a temperature?
The vets will advise if the need to see the dog.

I hope you find an emergency veterinarian that can see her today, and that all goes well.

I agree with the other replies, I suspect that it could be a twisted bowel, blockage or similar, but I also want to underline what Archiepoo mentioned, that "only" dehydration can be potentially fatal. In any situation when there isn't much fluids going in the front end, in combination with losing fluids in the back end, then a few days of that, and there is actually a risk of dying from dehydration, or something related to dehydration.

Just ring your vet mariebx19, it should either divert you to an emergency vet or give you a number to ring.

All vets will have details on their ansaphones about either how to contact emergency vet or where to go. Agree with others, call vet now xx

I would definately class this as an emergency for all the reasons others have given, dont gamble with your dogs life because it does sound like a life threatening situation.

Ask yourself what would you do if you leave it to the morning and the vet says you should have brought him in earlier.

Please get your dog to a vet, good luck and keep us posted.

I got an emergency appointment for her today (i called vets now last night and they said as long as she was drinking it was ok to wait till today) the vet said it is probably just an infection from a bit of food she has picked up from the ground so she got an antibiotic injection,anti-inflammatory injection and metronidazole tablets. It has been one and a half minutes since the appointment and she is actually playing and looking happier.
