Dog Portraits

Hi, I don't post very often (in fact I could be a contender for the longest member/lowest post ratio!) but was hoping I could get some recommendations from you lovely people! I want to get a portrait done of our border collie for my hubby as a surprise wedding anniversary gift, but having done a quick google search see that there are loads of artists to choose from. Has anybody had one done that they are really pleased with? Any recommendations? I have a couple of months to play with and don't mind paying (within reason) for a really good picture but there seems to be so much variation in price and quality.

Any advice much appreciated. Thanks!

Millimoo - those pictures are great but I would probably pefer a pastel or painting on this occasion.

Haycroft - that is stunning! I know what you mean, so many good artists which makes it all the harder. Perhaps I should just stick to getting him a card!
