Dog ran over by postman

Regardless of right or wrong, its always terrible for someone to lose a much loved pet.
I feel so sorry for your old girl, Im just glad she had someone there with her in the end. What a sad way it would have been for an old girl to die, alone and in pain.
The postie should have called the local vet, simple good manners and compassion for other creatures must dictate that much.
So sorry for your loss x

our dog runs free around our garden(an acre or so)during the day as she was trained as a pup nt to go outside the gate without a lead on.i dont see whats the problem with that?we get ppl who drive in but shes car smart becaus shes used to them and only people who know her like our postman dare to get out of the car when jess is barking at them. What i dont understand how the postman managed to hit such a big dog?he really mustened have been watching what he was at!that could easily have been a child he hit! then leaving it to suffer i hope he got in plenty of trouble over it!

I can understand being devastated to lose a dog in this way.

However to stand up for the postie - they could have said nothing, imagine being in their shoes and know nothing about animal husbandry. He did the right thing to try and find someone and call the head office.

He was probably panicking and I expect feels awful about it.

On a separate note, we live on a farm, but I would never let my dogs out without people being here, as around us they would probably get stolen. If I had an old incontinent dog they would have a secure pen or newspaper in our utility!
