Hi, My friend has made the sad decision to try and find a new home for her dog as he has a few behaviour issues which despite her best efforts she has not been able to resolve and now she has a new baby it not fair on any of them. Is there a website similar to project horses or anywhere else to advertise problem dogs? He is very loving and not a nasty dog just got a few issues due to being neglected as a puppy. Thanks.

What are the issues and where is she based?

Please be aware, there are not enough homes for dogs with no issues, let alone dogs with issues, and she should think very carefully if this dog may be a danger in the hands of someone else/if she thinks it is ethical to be passing on her problem to someone else etc.

But I hope it is not as bad as all that and someone can help you out.

Yes I agree too but she wants to try and see if there is someone out there who would love him. He is basically just a bit lacking in social skills, he pesters other dogs to play until they attack him and then he gets scared. He has on a couple of occasions run at people barking at them too. When she went to dog trainer they told her it was fear based aggression so he was trying to get in there first before the other dog/person attacked him. He was from the dog pound and had been found very thin and terrified of everything and never been socialised, think he had been beaten too. I think he could do with a home where there was another calm dog to help him relax a bit (her other dog is also very hyper which doesn't help) and also to be given lots of exercise. I can't imagine there are many people out there who would even consider him especially as he looks like an alsation x type. My friend is a very responsible person and she wouldn't just give him away to anyone and if it comes down to it she will either keep him (although situation not ideal) or she will pts. :-(

He doesn't sound like the worst dog in the world, just under-socialised.
I was expecting you to say he had bitten someone or killed another dog :p

Rough location?
What age do you think he is?

She could try getting him listed on GSD Rescue as a rehome from home, rather than going into a kennel if, as you say, she is happy to keep him in the house for a while, as he is a GSD x, although bear in mind they are very busy at this time of year.

Just sounds like many of his needs are not being met, some exercise and one on one times would help, do u have any pics of him, is he neutered, and hwere about is he?
