I was thinking about Bear earlier and remembered the chaos and injuries to myself that she caused as an enthusiastic pup.
We got her at 6 months and she'd had no training on the lead and she was quite big for a goldie, plus I was a fairly clueless teenager - she was a steep learning curve! In the first week she spotted a squirrel and took off, I wasn't paying attention and tripped over going head first into a tree
She was also really bad for jumping up the first couple of weeks. One day she stopped dead and shot backwards between my knees. I bent down to pull her back through and she jumped up, put her paws on my bum and sent me sprawling in front of the cute guy from school and his very popular girlfriend
A few weeks later we went on holiday. Day one she dragged me down a grass bank that was slippery with dew - I skiied down it and was literally clothes lined by a washing line between two caravans. Bear added insult to injury by trying to give me the kiss of life
Day three it was squirrels again (the little sods were lying in wait, Im sure of it
) and we went grass skiing again, this time I avoided the washing line but came to grief when she out foxed me and went the other way round a tree to the way I thought she was going
A few months later she was excited and started running in circles in my friends driveway while we were chatting. As we were discussing something highly important like Take That or something
she ran into the back of my legs and took me out totally. Had a bruised bum for days!
The summer after she went blind in one eye I was on my hands and knees in the garden. My dad called her for supper and she came tanking from the top of the garden, didn't see me properly and our heads collided. She was fine, I had concussion!
Luckily Yellow Dog has avoided injuring me so far, he just likes to try and shake all over me when hes soaking wet
though he does enjoy embarrassing me whenever possible
So who else has had amusing canine related injuries?
